The day has finally come, your partner has finally proposed the idea of spending their life with you and put a ring on that finger, and you said Yes!! Your next thought Might Just be ok there’s a million things to do, what do I do now to get ready for this glorious day? This day came for me on December 30th, 2022 In front of the Princess castle at Disney Land, and I have to say it was the MOST amazing experience of my life My firs thought: and I can’t wait to start this Journey of being a wife to this amazing man, and planning this wedding, but then feeling anxiety rising as I figure out what my next step is, to make sure everything is exactly how we both envision and make it the most magical/ memorable day of both of our lives. I’ve found however there is a certain order to things and the first thing you should really do when you first get engaged:
1. Take The Time To Soak Up Being Engaged: Trust us, we know how tempting it may be to run right to social media after getting engaged. But before shouting it from the rooftops, take the time to soak it in, just the two of you. You’re going to want to remember this love-drunk high. For me I was already at the Happiest Place on earth, we went and got Pins that said newly engaged and just couldn’t stop smiling we were both on top of the moon. 2. Announce Your Engagement Unless you’re planning on keeping your engagement under wraps for a while, call your family and friends to let them know about the exciting news! They’ll be so happy you took the time to let them know before updating your social media, avoids any hurt feelings.3. Send out save the dates: About 9-10 months out send out save the dates specially if you have out of state relatives coming the early they can start looking at plane tickets the better! We just mailed ours out and Im so excited to have people start receiving them 4. Start Dreaming about your wedding: Before you start crossing things off of your wedding planning checklist you’ve got some daydreaming to do. Maybe you’ve been planning your wedding your entire life, or maybe it has never crossed your mind. No matter which boat you are in, we recommend starting by creating a wedding mood board or a design board if is a better way to describe it to help you nail down your style. You’ll get a better understanding of what colors your using, what flowers peak your interest, what style your thinking, if you don’t want to do an idea board do a finalized board also another way to keep things organized, it will help you keep you bridesmaids and Groomsmen noted, the photographer, food Plans, colors, flowers, dress Ideas, themes etc we are working on ours now and I think once its done it’ll be amazing and well have to post pics.
5. Set Your wedding Budget: Setting A Budget may not sound like a lot of fun, but it’s an important step to cross off your list early in the wedding planning process. We know how overwhelming it can feel. We personally use the zola website to manage our budget, keep tracking of wedding guest List and our to do list is on their too! While working on your budget, remember that there are most likely going to be unexpected wedding expenses that might take you by surprise. and keep in mind the length of time you would like your photographer there for and if your including videography. Music and Food are also Huge when it comes to Planning, were going the DIY method for some of this stuff to cut down on costs but our photographer so far as been one of our biggest expenses. 6.Take Engagement Photos: Now the real fun begins ENGAGMENT PHOTOS!!! this way by far one of the most amazing experiences I think I have ever done, and everything went amazing! we are doing a country theme for our wedding so we went out do Lost Dutchman Trail and took some pics out in the country with the sunset behind it it was absolutely perfect and they came out so beautiful. The photographer we hired for the wedding included a 30 minute engagement session as part of our package so that’s saved us some money as well and was perfect. We did them early enough that we can also include some of our best ones on our invitations to fully create the scene!

7. Choose A Venue And Set A Date: Now that you know your guest count and budget, start the venue search! Start by considering questions like whether or not you want a Backyard or Vendor wedding. Do you want to be indoors or outdoors? Are you going to host your ceremony and reception in the same space? These are things you’ll need to consider yourselves before you begin searching. We were very lucky in this aspect where his mom had a huge backyard so we decided to essentially do a DIY Wedding in her backyard and I think the personalized touch will be absolutely Perfect, were going to make most of our signs and the stage, we picked up a Nice stereo system for Music, and a lot of DIY center pieces and decorations its going to be amazing! As far as the date, when we were thinking of a date we tried to think of one that would be both memorable as well as meaningful, so we choose a date that meant something I.E our first serious date day, and it means something to both of us because its the 42nd day of the year, and “The Ultimate Answer to Life, The Universe and Everything is…42!”― Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Therefore our wedding is the answer to our life! and one of our favorite books/movies! Lastly but certainly Not Least! 8. Say YES to the dress! Even though you just got engaged, finding your dream dress early is a must. I was shocked too, they say it can take 6-9 Months at least to choose a dress get it fitted, get it alliterated and get it to the wedding day! and I myself have only just begun my wedding dress shopping with 271 days to go! The most important thing to remember is that bridal appointments are meant to be fun, this is your day with your girlfriends to find the perfect dress! 9.Lastly: Always Remember this day is all about you and Your Fiancé, I can’t wait to Marry Mine @ Kyron79, the theme and save the dates have gone out and I couldn’t be happier for this journey! Happy Planning!
