🥷

If you’re even remotely a fan of kung fu films, Five Deadly Venoms should be on your watchlist—immediately. Released in 1978 by the iconic Shaw Brothers Studio, this movie redefined martial arts storytelling and left a lasting legacy in the genre.
🐍 Plot Summary (Spoiler-Free)
A kung fu master lies on his deathbed, burdened with a secret: five of his former students, each trained in a unique and deadly fighting style—Centipede, Snake, Scorpion, Lizard, and Toad—may now be using their skills for evil. He sends his final pupil to track them down and uncover not only their identities, but their true intentions.
The student is tasked with uncovering who they are and stopping the ones who’ve gone rogue. What unfolds is a brilliant game of deception, shifting alliances, and high-stakes combat. Every fight is more than just fists and feet—it’s mind versus mind, style versus style.
With its mix of mystery, suspense, and expertly choreographed fight scenes, this film is far more than just punches and kicks—it’s a mind game wrapped in martial arts mastery.
🎥 Why This Movie Still Hits
This is hands down one of my favorite movies of all time.
Growing up, I’d stay up late just to catch this on Kung Fu Theater. We’d hit the local liquor store, grab snacks like brownies and little bags of chips, and camp out in front of the TV. Watching this movie wasn’t just something to do—it was an event. And to this day, no other kung fu film has matched its originality or cool factor.
If they ever remake it—and I really hope they do—I just pray they don’t lose the soul of the original. Keep the gritty kung fu flavor, the practical effects, and the raw storytelling. No CGI-heavy fluff. Just pure martial arts cinema.
